I was once again very recently asked The Question...What is Chivalry?

I have answerd this question a thousand times and I dont mind answering it. Chivalry is a Lifestyle, a Journey. It does not mysteriously happen to you one day, you do not wake up and say I am Chivalrous. Doesnt happen.  The root of Chivalry goes back and has as it's origins in the Saintly Virtues and the Deadly Sins.

To put it perhaps a bit simply Chivalry is striving against our Human Failings. It is resisting the temptaions and urges but it is a constant thing a Journey of a lifetime.

As long as we live and breathe it continues. Being part of Chivalry is being part of a Brotherhood one that spans the generations. For we are judged as a whole at least in the Historical concept we stand as one. In todays society we put the individual first while in the ages past the Group, the society is foremost. Thus the deeds of one reflect on all be they of a Good or evil bent.

In todays Modern Medievalism there are a few schools of thought but they are ussually divided into the following catagories

1. Historical

2. Romantic

3. Modern

4. Combination

Regardless the school Belt, spurs and sword do not a knight make. It is not in the trappings that a Knight is revealed but rather through their deeds and actions. It is in the Character of the Individual it is the trials both good and bad that we develop.
